A reportage of New York City
In her 5 minute presentation, Veronica Lawlor takes us through the reportage drawings she made on-site in NYC on September 11, 2001, and in the days and weeks that followed. She describes her emotions at the time each drawing was made, and talks about what it was like to document such a tragic time in her native city of New York.

Veronica Lawlor’s romantic and elegant draftsmanship has led her around the world, creating award-winning illustrations for numerous design and branding agencies. A member of Studio 1482, Ms. Lawlor works both on-location and from her NYC studio. Her clients include Tzelan, Chase Private Client, Brooks Brothers, the 3M Corporation, the Hyatt Hotel, and many more.
Her emotionally charged reportage drawings of the 9/11 attack on New York City was featured in the Newseum in Washington DC, and exhibited at the NYC Fire Museum in 2006. In 2011 Veronica was nominated by Canson USA as their representative for the Canson Prix, and her work was presented at the Louvre.
She is the author/illustrator of several books for children and adults.
Veronica Lawlor is also a professor at Pratt Insitute and Parsons School of Design, and teaches urban sketching workshops world-wide.
