Immersive sketching in a digital format.
Illustrator and Urban Sketcher Veronica Lawlor will present her drawings and final work for the scene, Flying Over the Brooklyn Bridge, part of the “City Explorer” large scale game installation at the NYU Hassenfeld Children’s Hospital in New York City.
Ms. Lawlor will discuss her drawing process, both on-site and in the studio, showing how multiple points of view can come together in the virtual world.
She illustrates the importance and relevance of teaching dimensional drawing, live and on-site, for students studying architecture, graphic design, interior design, illustration, film, or
game design. View scene here: https://vimeo.com/335186295
Flying Over the Brooklyn Bridge was created in Mental Canvas*, a drawing app which “augments traditional drawing as a way to formulate, explore and communicate ideas in 3D…[it] reimagines the sketch, imbuing it with entirely new capabilities, bringing it fully into the computer age.” – www.mentalcanvas.com
